About Us
BigJalebi, founded in September 2020 by Ritu Jalan and Sumeet Jalan, was born out of a deep commitment to support women widowed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the emotional and financial devastation caused by the loss of the primary breadwinner, the founders envisioned more than just immediate relief—they sought to empower these families with sustainable skills that could help them rebuild their lives.
In 2023, BigJalebi successfully organized a Diwali fundraising event, channeling the proceeds to benefit two charities. Building on this success, we have launched The BigJalebi Mission, an initiative designed to broaden our impact by adopting a more flexible and versatile approach to fundraising. Instead of earmarking funds for specific causes, our mission is to address a wide range of needs—including education, healthcare, and various charitable endeavours—based on individual cases.
Our ultimate goal is to create an adaptable environment that prioritizes helping those who are most in need, ensuring that every contribution has a meaningful impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
